Georgia energy options

Georgia's gas marketer system and its electricity rules are different. Confirm whether your home is in Atlanta Gas Light's territory before shopping for gas.

Electricity

Utility service; limited business exceptions

The Georgia PSC describes a traditionally regulated electricity market. It also identifies specific supplier-choice provisions for qualifying large commercial or manufacturing loads. Those provisions are not a general household switching program. [1]

Before you decide: Residential customers should compare rates and efficiency programs from their serving utility. Large businesses should verify eligibility with the PSC and utility.

Natural gas

Marketer choice in AGL territory

Atlanta Gas Light delivers gas but does not sell the gas commodity to customers in its competitive territory. Customers obtain supply from marketers. Other Georgia areas may be served by a distribution utility or a municipal gas system. [2] [3]

Before you decide: Compare the total charge, including AGL delivery-related charges and marketer fees. The PSC's marketer guide also points to service and complaint information.

Continue your comparison

Check the total price and contract terms before accepting an offer. For service or billing questions, find the right contact.
